Registration opens and lunch is served at Laszlos Krog, which stays open all day for food, drinks, and informal meetups.

13:00 – Keynote: The Future of Game Development

The summit kicks off with a bold keynote session featuring several leading voices from the industry. Together they’ll explore what’s next for games, studios and players.

14:00 – State of the Industry

How is the Swedish games industry doing — nationally and in our region? We’ll share the latest data, insights, and trends from both the national industry and the regional ecosystem.

15:00 – LiU Game Awards & Valla Student Showcases

First, join us as Linköping University presents the 15th edition of the LiU Game Awards — celebrating student creativity.

Right after, Valla Game Education will showcase selected student projects, presenting fresh ideas from upcoming game creators.

17:00 – Behind the Buzz of Clair Obscure: Expedition 33

Discover the social media and creator strategy behind one of 2025’s breakout titles. This session dives into how content creators, smart timing, and tight publisher–developer alignment helped turn Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 into a viral success.

18:00 – Fail Fest: Disasters & WTF Moments

The most entertaining part of the day. Developers open up about bugs, breakdowns, and beautiful failures — and what they learned along the way.

The evening continues at the same venue! Stick around as the mingle turns into a lively party, with local band Lo & Behold! bringing music and energy to keep the night going.

At the summit, Fredrik will share bold insights on the future of game development.

Account Executive at Lurkit

Mercedes Boberg helps game studios and publishers grow their reach through smart campaigns and creative content strategies. At Lurkit, she works with developers and creators to boost engagement, watch time, and community interaction. Earlier this year, she was responsible for the content creator program and organic marketing for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — one of 2025’s most acclaimed game launches.

Previously, he was Studio Manager at Dimfrost in Norrköping, leading the development until the company’s closure. At the summit’s Fail Fest, Josua will share the story behind being told he gave “the worst pitch ever” by a major investor — and what he learned from turning that moment into motivation.

Narin and Valle are the power couple behind Aftnareld — a small, passionate studio from Linköping creating cooperative games designed to bring people closer together. Their mission is to strengthen relationships through fun, challenge, and shared adventures. At the summit, they’ll share a behind-the-scenes disaster about a lethal bug that nearly killed the launch of Coridden, after many years of development.

Axel Nordanskog is a VR developer at Resolution Games’ Linköping office, where he works on some of the world’s most popular VR titles, including Bait!. At the summit’s Fail Fest, he’ll share the story of how a simple merge mistake nearly wiped months of work on Angry Birds VR — and what it taught him about teamwork and version control.

Games Industry Veteran

Mikko Tähtinen has worked in game development since the mid-90s, with experience from legendary studios like UDS, DICE and Starbreeze. Over the years, he has contributed to countless projects while mentoring colleagues and new artists. At the summit, Mikko will share the story of how he once managed to delete a project worth 55 million SEK — an epic fuckup that’s now part of game dev lore.

Customer Success Manager at Lurkit

Franz Rier works at Lurkit and is the creator of Games Made in Sweden — a passion project turned monthly newsletter highlighting the creativity and success of Swedish game developers. What started as a Steam Curator has grown into one of the best ways to stay up to date with the country’s thriving games scene. Franz will make an appearance during the Behind the Buzz session with his colleagues from Lurkit.

Project Manager at AI Sweden & Santa Anna IT Research Institute

Masae Ebersson helps organizations adopt AI through workshops and public talks. She previously led the “Visual Crime Scene” project at the Swedish Police, now evolving into “Interactive Digital Twins through Multimodal AI” where game technology plays a key role. At the summit’s Games for Change session, Masae will share how game tech can strengthen public safety and drive social impact.

Nils Folker is spearheading a studio known for combining advanced technology with meaningful applications in games, VR and simulation. He thrives on challenges that others might give up on — the tougher the problem, the more motivated he gets. At the summit’s Games for Change session, Nils will share how Lutra uses game technology to create tools that educate, train and make a real difference in society.

Research Director, Swedish Police Authority & Adjunct Professor, Linköping University

Lena Klasén, PhD, is Research Director at the Swedish Police and Adjunct Professor in Digital Forensics at Linköping University. With experience from Saab, FOI and the Ministry of Justice, she has led major innovation projects in security and forensics. At the summit’s Games for Change session, Lena will share how visualization can transform law enforcement and public trust.

Mikael Lija works with the Swedish Police, focusing on how visualization and interactive digital environments can support investigations and courtroom presentations. He brings a deep understanding of the challenges in bridging traditional forensic work with new digital methods. At the summit’s Games for Change session, Mikael will share how game technology can enhance public safety and help law enforcement meet the future.

Organizers

Tomas Ahlström and Thomas Clifford are the directors of East Sweden Game and the organizers behind the ESG Summit. They lead the region’s game development community and work to connect studios, creators, and partners across Sweden. At the summit, they make sure everything runs smoothly — on and behind the scenes — and that everyone feels welcome, inspired, and part of the local game-dev family.

OVERVIEW

The conference takes place across three nearby locations:

Spektrum
The conference area with the main stage, Indie Game Expo with locally produced games, the amazing ping pong room and more.

Laszlo’s Krog
Food, drinks and mingling all day, plus the evening party.

East Sweden Game
Open house with some creative activities.

Laszlo’s Krog is a newly opened restaurant in Ebbepark, known for its friendly service, great food and relaxed atmosphere. It’s located right below East Sweden Game – and just across the street from the Summit.

Lunch (11:30–14:00)

  • Arrive around 11:30 for a relaxed lunch before the rush.
  • Between 12:00–13:00, Laszlo’s gets very busy – a perfect time if you like energy and buzz, but be aware there may be cuing.

Afternoon hangout (14:00–19:00)

  • Stay close to the action with the conference menu – great food at fair prices, with something for everyone.
  • A perfect spot for meetings, casual chats or a drink at the bar.

Party mode (19:00–01:00)

  • After 19:00, we all drift toward Laszlo’s.
  • At 21:00, live music by Lo & Behold kicks off.

Ping Pong All Day
Need a break between sessions and play testing? Drop by the Fancade pingis room, right next to the main stage, and join a game of round-the-table ping pong! Rackets are available to borrow (as long as they last).

Tournament at 16:00
At 16:00 we’ll start a casual tournament handled by the Fancade team. No sign-up needed — just show up and play! 🏓

East Sweden Game Summit takes place in Spektrum, a modern venue located in the heart of Ebbepark — Linköping’s innovation district. It’s right next to East Sweden Game and Laszlos Krog.

✈️ Coming from abroad?

Fly to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) or Linköping City Airport (LPI). From Arlanda, take a direct train to Linköping (approx. 2.5 hours). From Linköping Airport, it’s just a 10-minute taxi or bus ride to Ebbepark.

🚆 Coming by train?

From Linköping Central Station, it’s a 5–10 minute taxi ride or a 20-minute walk to Ebbepark.

🚗 By car?

Search for Ebbepark, Linköping in your GPS. Parking is available in the area, but we recommend using public transport.

🚌 Local transport?

Several city buses stop near Ebbepark. Use the Östgötatrafiken app or website to plan your trip.
